It is an honor to announce Dr. Jennifer Kasper as a recipient of the 2011 Dean’s Community Service Lifetime Achievement Award given by Harvard Medical School for her work with Doctors for Global Health. This award has been established to recognize Harvard Medical School/Harvard School of Dental Medicine faculty, staff and students who have made outstanding efforts to serve the local, national and international community.
Dr. Kasper has been actively involved in Doctors for Global Health since 1996, when she served as a volunteer pediatrician and field coordinator in rural El Salvador for 1.5 years. She specializes in childrens' rights, child poverty, immigrants and hunger, child labor, and pediatric HIV/AIDS. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of DGH, and is the International Volunteer Coordinator. On behalf of all the board of directors past and present at Doctors for Global Health, and on behalf of our partner communities around the world, we thank Dr. Kasper for her lifetime of community service and to Harvard Medical School for this recognition.
