We would like to share with you the photos of the Tapas event our DGH board member in Spain held with friends at a local bar in
Madrid on December 29th. We shared a great video about the rehabilitation work that is ongoing in DGH's partner community in Santa Marta, El Salvador. We also had fun with a ¨rifa solidaria¨ (solidarity raffle). People from a Spanish cultural association called "Los sin
Carpa" (
www.lossincarpa.org), who have been working in El Salvador for years and spent time with CoCoSI and the rehabilitation health promoters in Santa Marta, attended. They really enjoyed being included.
Money was raised, lots of people became friends of DGH, and the evening was great fun!
Everyone truly came out winning. At the end of the evening, the bar donated a bicycle they had found on the street and had stored in the basement to a local foundation that offers rehabilitation to people with acquired brain injury who can´t afford private treatment, and aren't covered by social security. The next day the patients were already using and loving it. When people are gathered and inspired, amazing things happen.
