We had a wonderful fundraiser/friendraiser event at the Solterra Cohousing Community in Durham, North Carolina on January 9th, 2010. Nearly 100 people with interest in domestic and global health and human rights came together to learn about the work of Doctors for Global Health. We raised over $3500 through registrations and a silent auction and enjoyed great music by Bolin Creek and food from generous area restaurants.

DGH Boston is holding a holiday cookie fundraiser!  We'll be getting together to bake cookies all day on December 19th.  Until then, we're talking to friends and colleagues about making a donation to DGH in exchange for a box of fresh-baked cookies.  We already have more than 40 boxes of cookies ordered!  If you're in the Boston area and you'd like to make a donation to DGH for some cookies, or if you'd like to help us bake or help fill cookie boxes, co

Intense relief efforts are underway in El Salvador as the country tries to recover from the devastating effects of Hurricane Ida that caused heavy rains and mudslides throughout the country during the weekend of November 7-8th.  The rain has now subsided but has left a trail of disaster.  According to the latest official reports, the death toll has risen to 184, with 14,166 people now in shelters, 2614 evacuated and many who still remain unaccounted for.
